| Handheld gaming has been around for quite a while and has really gained momentum ever since Nintendo introduced its Gameboy system years ago. Since its introduction we've seen other portable systems such as the Atari Lynx, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Sony Playstation Portable, Neo Geo Wonder Swan, etc. With technology doubling in speed and halving in size about the rate of every 18 months, how long will console game systems remain the norm? Handheld gaming already features wireless capabilities to play with other players locally and across the globe, so is console gaming going away? If so, what will the future hold for other such things as digital distribution? Do you think handheld gaming will ever outpace console/PC gaming? |
