Discuss your favorite games! | | | Remember Bowser's kids? | | No, I'm not talking about Bowser Jr. I'm talking about Larry, Wendy, Roy, Lemmy, Iggy, Ludwig Von Koopa and Morton Koopa Jr. They made their debut in Super Mario Bros. 3 and then came back in Super Mario World. After that, they disappeared for over a decade, only to return in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga for Game Boy Advance. The question is, who is their mother? Is it Princess Toadstool/Peach? Bowser Jr. called Peach "mom" in Super Mario Sunshine. Do you think Mario is just jealous and Peach is really an evil mastermind?
| | Video Games help your mind | | Due to a study, games that are hard challenge the mind, henceforth making them addicting. When you are thinking really hard, trying to remember every single little thing you saw on the way, trying to solve a mystery, or frantically trying to find adjacent gems to swap in order to win, peoples brains are trying really hard to concentrate, therefore exercising your brain. Yes, crossword puzzles, mazes, and Sudoku are the same, thy are hard and drive your brain to the limit looking for the answer in every corner of your brain, so connections between neurons are being strengthened, and new ones are being made. This makes your brain stronger. Games like shooting that don't have a puzzle or mystery that you are trying to figure out are questionable, but a lot of nintendo games, and many games that involve puzzle-solving skills will actually help your brain, so people may say they are mindless, but they are only mindless if they are too easy, and you don't have to stress your mind to come up with a fast solution. Bejeweled, Jewel Quest, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Party 9 and Jewel Quest all are good games, and of course there are many others, some free at www,bigfishgames.com and other... | |

| | The origin of Super Mario | | Wanna know how Nintendo's Mario got his name?
Regarding Mario’s origins, it’s common knowledge among game fans that legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto created him for 1981′s Donkey Kong arcade game. But few know that Nintendo borrowed Mario’s name and Italian heritage from a real man.I knew this, but there's more to the story...That man’s name is Mario Segale, and he’s not a plumber. He’s a wealthy real estate developer in Tukwila, Washington. Segale unwittingly stepped into video game history by renting out a warehouse that served as Nintendo’s U.S. headquarters in the early 1980s. At that time, a financially struggling Nintendo of America (NOA) was preparing the U.S. launch of Donkey Kong. Legend has it that NOA President Minoru Arakawa noticed physical similarities between Donkey Kong’s short, dark-haired protagonist and the landlord. So the crew at NOA nicknamed the character Mario, and it stuck.
Full story: http://technologizer.com/2010/04/25/mario/I find it interesting that Segale is fully aware of this story, yet hasn't approached Nintendo about some sort of payment for being their indirect, last minute muse. I guess the obsession...

I played it in the family computer and I finished level 8 then died somewhere at level 9, I get this far using the secret shorcuts. Does this game really have an ending? Does Mario really gonna save the princess and not the mushrooms that replace her at every castle?
